Hello Class.
Throughout this course, we’ve have been evaluating and comprehending the issues of European-American arrival, settlement, and living patterns in the Americas, as well as the effects of European-American settlement on Native-American life. But have you ever wondered what ancient Indian Civilization life looked like before the Europeans first arrived and what those locations look like now? There were three great civilizations prior to the arrival of the Europeans: The Maya, Inca, and Aztecs. These great civilizations existed in Mexico and in Central and South America between 500 and 1,800 years ago. As mentioned in the text for this course, Give Me Liberty, North and South America was not an empty wilderness when the Europeans arrived. Instead, there were cities, roads, irrigation systems, extensive trade networks, and large structures such as the pyramid-temples. Evidence of their existence are still being uncovered to this day but there is much we already know about these civilizations.
